We are looking for bright and committed people for the following openings in TARSHI, in New Delhi:
- Counsellors
- Programme Associates
We are looking for women counsellors, in the capacity of fulltime employees to be a part of the Helpline team based in New Delhi.
Counsellors will:
- Take calls on the helpline
- Keep and maintain records
- Contribute to all aspects of the helpline, i.e. feed in data, track publicity, represent the helpline in meetings, and so on.
- Ensure effective reporting of the helpline service.
- Enhance their personal skills and knowledge by reading, observation and assignments.
- Contribute to and participate effectively in TARSHI’s ongoing programmes and activities.
- A Masters degree preferably in the Social Sciences.
- Fluency in Hindi and English.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Keen intellectual and analytical abilities.
- Initiative and responsibility.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working on issues of sexuality and reproductive health in India and prior work experience on a Helpline is greatly preferred.

2. Programme Associates
We are also looking for Programme Associates to be based in New Delhi for the following activities:
- Assisting in developing training modules and courses for various training needs including a teacher’s training module and e–learning courses based on TARSHI’s training manual and programmes.
- Contributing to TARSHI’s public education activities by writing technical papers, making presentations, assisting in the development of TARSHI’s publications, and maintaining and updating TARSHI’s knowledge base and website content.
- Develop the programmes in keeping with TARSHI’s vision.
- Ensure effective reporting of the programmes.
- Assist in logistics of in–house and external training.
- Assist with writing proposals for the organisation.
- Assist with developing of budgets, monitoring and accounting for expenditures.
- Disseminate information on the programmes.
- Participate in networks on issues of sexuality, sexual and reproductive rights and women’s rights and build alliances with other NGOs and civil society stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation at various fora.
- A relevant post–graduate degree.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working on issues of sexuality and reproductive health in India.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to multi–task, organise, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
