Free health camp for 250 truckers - Times of India

PUNE: More than 250 truck drivers benefited from the free health check-up camp organised at MIDC Ranjangaon on April 7 to mark the World Health Day. The Eaton Corporation organised the camp in association with Eaton's NGO partner Sahara Aalhad'.

General physicians, ENT specialists and opthalmologists rendered their services.

. Other activities included distribution of health kits for personal hygiene, pamphlets with guidelines for healthy living and streetplays to demonstrate importance of health and hygiene, said Raja Kochar, managing director of Eaton Corporation, India.

The company's India branch has been successfully running a CSR campaign called "Taking the Wheel" an HIV AIDS awareness campaign for truck drivers since last three years. The campaign provides clinical counselling and outreach services to truckers in Pune to address high levels of HIV/AIDS infection and transmission amongst this cohort, said Kochar.
