VOLUNTEERS with the Uganda Red Cross Societys (URCS) anti-HIV/AIDS programme have formed new community based organisations to boost the fight against the scourge.
The organisations, based in Arivu, Uleppi, Bileafe, Katrini and Nyadri sub-counties in Arua district, will support bed-ridden persons and conduct HIV preventive activities. To kick start them, the society last week donated 45 bicycles and 30 nursing kits.
The event was witnessed by the RCS chairman, Martin Andua Drani and the project officer, Roy Asiku. Asiku said the volunteers had enough experience to sustain the project.
He hailed sub-county leaders for their co-operation while transforming the post-test clubs into organisations.
